In laboratory conditions the electrocoagulation-flotation of wastewater was carried out. A liquid manure from pig and cattle farm municipal sewage and also a model wastewater were used. Electrolysis was carried out in static, dynamic and also recirculation and double recirculation systems. Aluminium and iron electrodes were applied. Some advantages of electrolytical methods were compared to the defects of the standard chemical coagulation of liquid manure. Use of the sediment, obtained as a result of liquid manure electrolysis for fertilizing was suggested. The tests on the model systems not only allowed to define an optimum current frequency i.e. 3.9 mHz of the applied current, but also demonstrated a bigger usefulness of aluminium as an electrode material than iron. During the model wastewater electrolysis pH was adjusted to 5.8-6.0 to avoid the presence of the toxic aluminium in the purified liquid filtrate. A possibility of combining the electrochemical purification method with a partial desinfection of wastewater was mentioned
