The studying on the effectiveness of some chemical against leaf scald disease of rice (Rhynchosporicum oryzae Has. et Yokogi) was conducted at Patthalung Rice Research Center. The leaf scald susceptible rice variety RD 23 was transplanted in to 3 x 5 m2 plots. The experiment was designed in Randomized Complete Block Design with 4 replications and 9 treatments. Eight fungicides were applied two times. First application was done 3 days after artificial inoculation of leaf scald disease and the second time 7 days later. The plants were inoculated at 45 days after transplanting by clipping leaf tip and dipped the cut leaves in spore suspension. The lesion length was measured 21 days after inoculation. Significant difference of lesion lengths were observed on three fungicides, namely Sportak 45 % EC:, Topsin-M 70 % WP. and Tecto 90 % WP.
