The impact of Andanan River irrigation project on rice production and income distribution in Bayugan, Agusan del Sur, Philippines, (1984)
1985
Concordio V Orlanes
The results revealed that irrigation had positive impact on yield and income during the two cropping seasons. Greater impact was clearly seen during the dry cropping season when rainfall was minimal and variant. Irrigated farms had higher yield and income per hectare than non-irrigated farms. Irrigation was highly favorable to the farm operators in the dry cropping season although it seemed to favor all types of earners when compared to farms without irrigation. The allocation of paddy output shared by each earner in farms with irrigation much higher than farms without irrigation. Income distribution by factor shares showed that irrigated farms were direct contrast to the non-irrigated farms. Returns to management were positive in both wet and dry cropping seasons for irrigated farms but for non-irrigated farms experienced a negative returns in dry cropping season.
