The lactose content as indicator of extraneous water in milk

The results proved linear connection between the contents of lactose and water in milk. The changed composition of milk, determined by the Milko-Scan apparatus, first of all its small content of lactose, smaller than 4.00%, enabled rapid detection of extraneous water in milk which necessarily had to be justified by the prescribed analytical procedures.
