Dressing percentage and ratio of important body components of 119 specimens of three- and four-year-old scaled and mirror carp reared in experiments with different production intensity (yield between 660 - 5710 kg/ha), was determined. Dressing percentage was determined according to the Czechoslovak Standard CSN 46 6802 and it expresses the percentage of fillet part without scales and fins. In all cases, the average dressing percentage was higher than is required by the standard (1st class carp - 57 per cent; 2nd class carp - 56 per cent). Unfavourable effect of dense stocking and/or increased production intensity on dressing percentage was not registered. In the examined fish, a partial increase in dressing percentage was recognized together with the increased production intensity. Data on ratio of different parts of carp body and regressive relationships between this ratio and individual weight of fish are presented. Effect of scaliness, size of gonads, age and presence of coarse fish in pond stock is analyzed from point of view of dressing percentage.
