Topophysis of the Sorbus aucuparia buds in the culture in vitro

The paper presents the results obtained at a cultivation of mountain ash Sorbus aucuparla L. buds using in vitro method. Two basal media (SH and WPM) were compared with a different content of growth regulators (IBA, NAA, BAP). The response of buds, which were taken form various parts of the stem (topophysis), to the medium composition was observed. A different response was found between the apical bud and the buds of the other stem parts. The method of organ cultures coming from a spring sampling is suitable for Sorbus aucuparia and it can be used for cultivation of seedlings. All buds of two-old-year seedlings are convenient for micropropagation.
