Thiodicarb (a carbamate insecticide, formulated as Larvin 500 FL,44% a.i.) was sprayed on cotton at four rates 600, 700, 800 and 1000 ml/fad. to study their effects on the oil and fiber properties and protein content in cotton seed meal. The rate of 1000 ml/fad. decreased the seed index, oil percent, acid value, iodine value and refractive index and increased the protein content. Whereas the rates of 600, 700 and 800 ml/fad. did not significantly differ in oil percentage, iodine value, dry substances and protein content. The rate of 600 ml/fad. gave the lowest values of the 2.5% span length, mean length, tenacity, fineness and lint percentage, while the rate of 700 ml/fad. gave the highest values of 2.5% span length mean length uniformity, elongation and fineness of cotton fiber.
