Effect of salinity and some micronutrients application on the vegetative growth and yield of Egyptian henbane (Hyoscyamus muticus L.) [Egypt]

The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of making use of saline water for irrigation, and to increase the tolerance of Egyptian henbane to salinity by foliar applications of micronutrients; Mn, Zn and Fe. Hyoscyamus muticus plants were irrigated with saline solutions by dissolving mixtures of three salts namely sodium chloride, calcium chloride and magnesium chloride (Mixture-a) and sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride and magnesium chloride (Mixture-b). Each having three concentrations; 1250, 2250 and 1250 ppm. beside the control treatment (tap water which the total soluble salts was almost 250 ppm) at 4 day intervals till the flowering stage.
