Karyomorphology of Philippine dawn bat Eonycteris spelaea gladifera Lawrence (Chiroptera: Pteropidae)

Karyomorphological analysis of bone marrow cells in male Philippine dawn bat (Eonycteris spelaea glandifera Lawrence) revealed a diploid chromosome number of 36 consisting of 36 AA + XY. Based on the relative length and position of the centromere, the chromosomes were categorized into four groups. Twelve pairs of chromosomes possessed centromeres at the median region while five pairs had centromeres at the submedian region. The X chromosome had a median centromere while the Y chromosome had a terminal centromere
