Effect of the weediness degree on yielding of potatoes on soil developed from loess

The aim of the respective investigations was to estimate the effect of primary and secondary weediness of the field on potato yields. The results obtained have proved that it is the primary weediness, which is particularly harmful, whereas the harmfulness threshold of weeds occurring in that period lies within the interval of 41-80 weeds per 1 sq. m. Weeds appearing upon closing rows (secondary weediness) does not lead to any proved tuber yield decrement, while differentiated weedines of the potato stand in the whole potato growth period affected significantly the yield, the harmfulness threshold of weeds lying with in the interval of 1-40 weeds per 1 sq. m
