Seed testing stations receive differentiated samples of lupine seeds, with different seed coat coloration and design than it is prescribed to particular cultivars. Very often in a variety are found seeds with questionable identity. In these investigations groups of seeds were separated from each sample, by propagating under field conditions from super-elite in four subsequent years. By propagation in the field, 3 groups of seeds with different coloration and seed coat design, were separated according to the following formula: 1- seeds with coloration and coat design consistent with cultivar description, 2- seeds with darker coloration and a distinct crescent, 3- seeds with faint crescent of lacking and with light brown pigmentation
