In experiments conducted in 1985-87, 4 different samples of seeds produced by the triaditional method and 3 different samples produced by the new method were sown and the yield was compared. It is shown that the technology of seed production has not any influence on: the yield and celeriac root quality; size and equalization of such morphological root features as mass, diameter, height, shape coefficient, mass of side roots; occurrence of cavernes, rust-coloured and violet spots. It seems that celeriac seed production from seedlings produced in July and overwintered under plastic or glass shelters may be used in praxis without fear of getting a smaller yield of worse quality
