Effect of chronic intoxication with ammonium fluoride on some parameters of mineral balance and lipid metabolism

Experiments were carried out on Wistar male rats chronically exposed to ammonium fluoride at concentration of 0.0016 mg/(cu. m) of air, which is corresponding to medium fluorine concentration in the atmospheric air. After 3, 6, and 9 month the following indices of mineral balance and lipid metabolism were assayed: bone F-, Ca2+, Mg2+ content, blood serum alkaline phosphatase activity, F-, Ca2+, Mg2+, PO4(3-) concentration, total lipids, cholesterol, and phospholipids levels.
