Influence of nitrogen fertilization and farmyard manuring on fractional composition of soil organic matter

It was found that nitrogen fertilization with simultaneous manuring caused the losses of soil organic matter, whereas that without manuring had a restraining effect on organic matter losses. The grey brown podzolic soil under manuring contained more fractions resistant to oxidation, which are the most stable forms of humus
