The rotations consisted of maize for silage, oats spring barley, rye, oats for green feed, and mixtures of lucerne and clover with grasses. Rotations with a high percentage of fodder crops gave higher yields of dry matter, oat units and digestible protein than those containing a high percentage of cereal crops. The rotation with 80 per cent of fodder crops was found to be the most productive
