During 5-year period some after-effects of zinc fertilization used in doses of 5, 10, 20 kg Zn/ha (under forecrop) upon yield of the bean, were examined. Research covered also zinc content in the plant, its intake with crop as well as soil richness. In the second year of usage of 5 and 10 kg doses considerable increase in yield (average 0.3-0.5 tons of seeds per 1 ha) was noticed. Zinc content in plants increased only when dose under forecrop amounted to 20 kg Zn/ha. Great up-take of zinc by horse bean was stated. It varied from 300 up to 412 g from 1 hectare. Soil after harvesting included much less of assimilable zinc. Its richness lowered from class Good down to Average, too
