This study was conducted at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center to select for high oil hybrid corn. Alexander high oil corn variety was introduced by Chutkaew in 1979 for research and development, then S1 and S2 lines were selfed for three generations and selection based on their agronomic characters and oil contents. Nineteen inbred lines of S4 and S5 were selected and used as male parents to form single cross and three-way cross hybrids. Female parents were consisted of three inbred lines: Ki 3, Ki 21 and Ki 27 along with two single crosses hybrids: KSX 2901 and KSX 2903. Ninety-five high oil hybrid corn were arranged in yield trial and analysed for their oil contents. Results revealed that yield of single cross hybrids were higher than three-way cross hybrids. Means yield of single cross and three-way cross hybrids were 4,569 and 4,363 kg/ha, respectively. Oil contents of single cross and three-way cross hybrids were slightly different at 5.6 and 5.8 percent, respectively. The highest oil yield, 769 kg/ha, was obtained from Ki 3 x AHO 19-1-4-3 -3-4 single cross hybrid whereas the highest oil yield, 719 kg/ha, was obtained from KSX 2903 x AHO 19-1-4-3-3-4 three-way cross hybrid. Four good general combining ability inbred lines were AHO 19-1-4-3-3-4, AHO 19-1-4-3-1-4, (DA(HO)8-1 x HO 1-2) S4-1-1-2 and (AHO 21-2 x DA(HO)8-1)S4-1-2-1 with the oil content of 5.0, 7.3, 7.2 and 13.0 percent, respectively.
