Rooting of the spruce (Picea abies) cuttings in the aim of technology developing for the mass vegetative propagation
1987
Medjedovic, S. (Sumarski fakultet, Sarajevo (Yugoslavia))
The induction of rhizogenesis was investigated in the spruce cuttings of different ages (4, 12 and 16 years) treated with active substances, IAA, IAK and IAA+IBA. Shoots occured on the treated cuttings, after 15-20 days. Their number and length differed depending on the age of the parent tree from which the cuttings had been taken. In the period of 2-25 days, the calus tissue outgrew the cut part of the cutting and closed the cut area. First roots from the calus tissue appeared 110 days after induction. Mass rooting of spruce cuttings was in the period between the 115th and 120th day. Percentage of cuttings' rooting depended on the age of the parent tree and applied treatment with active substance.
