Manojlovic, B. (Institut za zastitu bilja, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
The paper presents the results of two-year investigations into the intensity of infestation and population density of gall midges, Daktulosphaira vitifoliae Fitch during the vegetation period. In 1987 the attack of gall midges, D. vitifoliae on American grapevine was considerably strong and the population grew during June, July and the first 10 days of August but reduced by the end of August. Insecticides, primarily Lindan 20-EC and Lorzban L-16 EC and to a lesser degree Fastac 10% EC reduced the damages to the American grapevine to the minimum for a longer period of vegetational season.
