A basic method for control of variosis in large profesionally managed apieries is a repeated treatment of swarms by the end of summer and throughout autumn until the last swarm has emerged. Thus bees are sure to live through the winter with small number of varroae. Follows that the degree of contamination in spring will be very little making one or two diagnostic treatments sifficient for evaluation of contamination level. Such procedure provides for a summer free from any therapeutic treatment except for regular check-ups of the closed drone nests for the level of varoosis. The examined preparations Varescens and white Varamit proved greatly efficient and with no adverse effects. However, the whole procedure should be supported by agritechnical measures, such as the maintenance of powerful bee societies, a prompt replacement of the queen and reneval of a third of honeycombs each year. Furnigation with armitrase-based preparations should be carried out in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Also, only those preparations should be employed whose validity has not yet expired, regardless of proper storing conditions.
