By applying 3 different feeding regimens, variations in body mass of experimental animals (rats) in experimental groups, that is, nutritional state were achieved. By the addition of (4 14C) glycine and (U14C)--valine, differences of the total radioactivity in blood plasma and brain were insignificant in all the 3 experimental groups and in both time intervals. Deposition of 14C, from both applied amino acids, in liver and skeletal muscles was different as regards the experimental group and the time of application. The most prominent differences in the uptake level of 14C from the applied amino acids were established in skeletal muscles. Deposition of 14C per unit of tissue mass was the highest in liver. Carbon glycine skeletons were, to a large extent used in all investigated tissues pointing to a great metabolic effect of this amino acid with 2 C atoms.
