On the grounds of the results obtained the following can be concluded: prolongation of fattening from 14 to 22 weeks of male turkeys of the Nicholas hybrid line results in a significant increase of dressed carcass weight and yield and in a reduced share of liver, heart and cleaned-up gizzard, as compared to the pre-slaughter weight of the carcass; the share of breast in the total weight of a dressed carcass increases along with the prolongation of fattening, whereas the shares of things and drum-sticks tend to decerase. The rest of the constituents do not manifest such a regular tendency of changes induced by the duration of fattening.
