Polymorphism of amylase (Aml) locus was determined in blood sera of Holestein dairy cows and its possible correlation with the incidence of ketosis was examined. It was established that all three genes of amylase locus segregate in the group of 454 cows examined. X2 analysis of differences between the found and anticipated number of phenotypes has shown imbalance of the examined population in terms of theis Aml locus. The incidence of ketosis was highest in a group of cows with Aml BB type and lowest in Aml BC type. Contigency coefficient suggested a positive correlation between amylase locus phenotypes and ketosis frequency.
