The following was established by the investigation: in the inheritance of length, width and thickness of seed with some sunflower hybrids, positive heterosis was found in F1 generation; negative heterosis was found in a single hybrid combination, in the inheritance of husk content; besides heterosis in the inheritance of the investigated properties other modes of inheritance were prominent, as well; inbred M-6/4 line had a positive effect of general combining ability (GCA) and CPK-34 and P-32 had a negative effect of GCA for all investigated properties; the additive genetic variance was predominant for the inheritance of husk content, length and width of seed and non-additive for the inheritance of seed thickness; the frequency of predominant genes was higher than frequency of recessive genes for all investigated properties.
