This paper presents the results of a research on newly acknowledged lines of two-row spring barley and the standard varieties Union, Kraguj, Zenit and Biser. The average grain yield of the new lines was higher than the grain yield of the standard varieties. The average grain yield differs each year up to 1000 kg/ha. New lines have 17.18 cm shorter stems than the standard variety Union. The average extract content in the dry matter of malt of the new lines ranged from 77.72 to 79.09% and there was an average fluctuation of 3% each year. The content of total proteins in the malt ranged from 11.09% for the line L.331 to 12.13% for the variety Kraguj and differed each year by 3.74%. The new line L.331 produced grains and malt of the finest quality, along with a high average grain yield (5.888 kg/ha). The new lines were more resistant in the field to erysiphe graminis f. sp. hordei than the studied varieties.
