Comparing aspects of seed potato program in Ecuador, Kenya and the Philippines

A comparative study of seed potato systems in three countries found that individual technical aspects of seed production were strong points of seed programmes while management of seed programme, and cooperation and coordination among the agencies in the seed programme were weak points. Recommendations to address weak points include management training for technical scientists, establishment of management information systems to assist the monitoring and evaluation processes, and institutionalizing communications among the various seed programme agencies.
