Content of alpha-tocopherols and sterols in vegetable oils and margarines

It has been found that the content of alpha-tocopherol in sunflower oil (63.6 mg - 268.7 mg) is higher than that in oils, manufactured in previous years of other cultivars under other weather conditions and technological processes. After 4-month storage of one of oils investigated so far, the tocopherol has been totally oxidized in enol forms, and has been practically absent in the oil. The amount of total sterols is within the order determined according to literature data. The amount of alpha-tocopherols and sterols in margarines is also within the limits given in literature.
