Ectropis obliqua P. is a major pest of tea plant in Eastern China. In recent years a species of fungus, which was isolated from the diseased larvae and identified as Erynia radieans (Brefeld) Humber et al, has been epidemic in the tea plantation of Anhui Province. The infection of this fungus inhibited effectively the population of E. obliqua. The morphology, fine structure, growth character in culture and other biological characteristics of the fungus were described and those factors contributed to the epidemic of the fungus infection in the tea plantation were also analysed in this paper
