Results showed that all 11 entries when compared to UPL Sg5, the local check (which was rated moderately susceptible), were found resistant to prevailing common diseases attacking sorghum such as tar spot, anthracnose, zonate leaf spot, and leaf blight. Mean disease ratings of the 11 sorghum ranged from 2.1 to 2.4 using standard rating scales devised by the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) where 1 = no symptom and 5 = more than 40% of the leaf area infected. Other diseases noted were target leaf spot, gray leaf spot, bacterial stalk rot and head molds, however, these were regarded of minor importance. Of the 11 sorghums, USMARC 212 obtained the highest grain yield of 6 tons/ha followed by USMARC 208, USMARC 214, and USMARC 216 with yields of 5.7, 5.6, and 5.5 t/ha, respectively. Plant height ranged from 182.13 to 260.58 cm, days to 60% flowering, 59 to 67, and head length, 26 to 30 cm.
