Ipomoea trifida synthetic 6X were screened for resistance to the weevil under field conditions. Out of 35 clones, 13 clones were selected based on percentage hill infestation lower than 25%. Differential stem reaction observed among the I. trifida clones suggests certain degree of weevil resistance.
