Influence of nitrogen fertilization on soil available nutrients and yield of crops

Field experiments were conducted on good wheat, good rye and very weak rye soil complex to study the effect of increasing nitrogen rates on mineral N and available P, K and Mg of the soils as well as yield of farm crops. The following crops were grown: potatoes, spring barley, rye as catchcrop + leguminous mixture as second crop. Nitrogen was applied for potatoes, spring barley and rye (catchcrop) at the following rates: 0, 40, 80, 120, 160, 200 and 240 kg/ha. The soil analysis performed in the third year of the experiment showed a highly positive correlation between increasing nitrogen rates and the content of mineral N in the soil of all complexes studied.
