Yield components as selection criteria for yield in peanut (Arachis hypogaea l.)
1986
Somsak Tongsri
The report decribed selection 62 lines of F6 generation from 756 basic lines of F5, the top score of yield components was to compare with checked cultivars (Tainan 9 and SK.38). Each differed in 8 agronomic characters, namely dry pod yield, seed yield, a number of mature pods per plant, shelling percentage, plant height, days to 50 percent flowering, a number of seeds per pod and weight of 100 seed. Correlation coefficients of 3 yield component characters in F5, f6 and F7 generation indicated high positive associations of dry pod yield and a number of mature pods per plant with seed yield. Shelling percentage showed a negative correlation with seed yields.
