The effects of Rumensin, given in form of a cylindrical bolus by mouth, on feedlot performance were studied in a trial lasting 165 days on 60 young Simmental cattle (thirty bulls and thirty heifers). The rations consisted of corn silage (given ad libitum) and ensiled corn cob meal mixes with a concentrate and were given either with or without Rumensis bolus. The trial showed that the use of Rumensin bolus had a favourable effect on fattening results, with significantly higher weight gains (13.56% in male and 10.23% in female animals) and a significantly better feed conversion (21.21% in male and 18.21% in female animals) in comparison with the results of fattening without Rumensin bolus.
