An attempt has been made to utilize the direct test results for establishing interrelationship between the traits of the boar, with the aim to simplify the procedure by reducing the number of evaluations that are usually performed. A total of 18 traits were under investigation. Average daily gain is to a high degree correlated with feed consumption, while its correlation with backfat qualities is very low. In contrast, feed consumption in kg and in nutritive units is in medium correlation with most of the backfast qualities, which is significant. All relationships between the measures of backfat thickness have correlation coefficient values of high significance. A characteristic finding is that correlations of the surface of Musculus logissimus dorsi with all measures of backfat thickness are negative. The research results can be the base for reduction of the number of measurements performed on directly tested boars.
