Effect of ochratoxin A on the blood count and some biochemical parameters of blood serum in weaned piglets

Effects of Ohratoksin A in the concentration of 1.06 mg/kg food on the concentration of haemoglobin, the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes, total blood serum proteins and protein fractions were examined. Its effects on the concentration of nitrogenous and nitrogenfree constituents of blood serum or some enzymes (urea, creatinin, bilirubin, glucose, cholesterol, AST, ALT and alkaline phosphatase) were also examined in the blood serum of weaned piglets. After 28 days of feeding on the Ohratoksin A-added meals, certain differences were noticed in levels of the examined parameters.
