The quality of rain water that penetrates through the canopy and infiltrates into the soil layers of the watershed is influenced by many processes. The results of the measurements of concentrations NH4+, NO2-, NO3-, Cl-, pH and electrical conductivity of rainwater influenced by the vegetation and the soil of the watershed are presented. It has been found out that the water quality parameters have changed not only by penetrating through the subsystems of the watershed (interception, stemflow, organic and humic layer of the soil, the whole geological layer) but are changing during the seasonal periods, as well. These results are the basis for a more detailed program for measuring the influence of forest on runoff and its quality.
