Contribution to the study of potato aphids in Greece

Aphis frangulae has been found to acquire a high resistance to methamidophos in a potato seed producing area in Greece. Rhopalosiphoninus latysiphon has been detected in the subterranean parts of potato plants for the first time in Greece, while A. frangulae has been found to colonize potato plants for the first time in Greece. Potato virus Y (PVY(exp 0)) was successfully transmitted by four species of aphids locally collected.
