Chlaenius biculatus, Sycanus sp., Clephydronura sundica, Syacus leucomosus and a species of staphylinid were found to feed on cover crop pests such a Nacoleia diemenalis and Brachytrypes portentosus. S. leucomosus consumed significantly higher numbers of N. diemenalis larvae than other predators. The consumption of B. portentosus by predators showed S. leucomosus consumed the highest number of prey. Biological studies of S. leucomosus indicated that the egg stage was longer than individual nymphal instars. The interval between the first and the sixth instar for six generations ranged between 71 and 81 days. The release ratio of 2:6 for the adult, fifth instar and third instar S. leucomosus to third instar B. portentosus resulted in complete kill of prey. Interspecific predation and predator-prey relationship between predators and pests are discussed
