Effect of ways and dates of ploughing down farmyard manure on yielding of sugar beets

It has been proved that upon ploughing down farmyard manure without coulter or with coulter or after skimming with subsequent winter ploughing the yield of roots and leaves of sugar beets and the sugar content maintained at an approximate level. These tillage measures did not affect the physical properties of soil or weediness. Upon ploughing down farmyard manure without subsequent winter ploughing or in the early spring period the sugar beet yields distinctly decreased and their level maintained at the level in the treatment without farmyard manure. At deficiency of farmyard manure the highest drop of the sugar beet yield was observed, whereas the soil density and compactness increased at simultaneous decrease of the total porosity and of soil moisture
