To observe the effects of floor system on growth performance, straight-run White Leghorn chicks were reared either on saw dust littered floor or on bamboo slatted floor between 28 and 84 days of age. Within the experimental period of 56 days, birds on litter and bamboo slate ate 2027 g and 1927 g of feed and gained 692.19 g and 658.07 g live weight respectively (P0.05). Birds on both litter and bamboo slate consumed 2.93 kg liveweight gain. Mortality on litter and bamboo slate were 14.5% respectively. Infestation of parasites (Worm+Coccidiosis) was higher on litter than on slate.
