Improvement of jute cuttings by pectinolytic enzymes [in Bangladesh]

Three potential pectinolytic strains, PLS-07, PLS-17 PLS-42, showed the properties of the genera Pseudomonas, Bacillus and Erwinia respectively. Pectin content of jute cuttings before and after treatment with these organisms showed that these strains could hydrolyse pectin to remove the stiffness of fibre.
