Gross features and minute anatomy of ten important village tree species of Bangladesh, viz. babla (Acacia nilotica (L.) Wild. ex. Del. sub sp. indica (Benth) Brenan), kanthal (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lamk.) neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss.), sissoo (Dalbergia sissoo) painya mandar (Erythrina fusca Lour.), mandar (Erythrina orientalis (L.) Merr.), am (Mangifera indica), ghora neem (Melia azadarach), raintree (Samanea saman (J.) Merr.) and tentul (Tamarindus indica) have been described. An identification key species has been incorporated. The probable uses of the species have been mentioned. Photomicrographs showing the cross sections of these species are given.
