The growth of 9 introduction citrus rootstocks

This study was conducted at Punten Experimental Garden, Batu, Malang, from September 1987-May 1988. A Randomized Completely Design with 3 replications was used. The citrus rootstocks were Volkameriana, Schoub Rough Lemon, Brazillian Sour Orange, Cleopatra Mandarin, Flying Dragon, Troyer Citrange, Carrizo Citrange, Citrus amblicarpa and Citrumello 4475. The result indicated a highly significant on plant height, leaf number, dry weight of shoot and root, root system, shoot/root ratio and significant on stem diameter, but no significant difference on root length at six months after transplanting. The highest plant was found on Volkameriana, but the highest leaf number was found on Cleopatra Mandarin. The widest stem diameter was found on Volkameriana, Schoub Rough Lemon and Citrumello 4475. Volkameriana and Schoub Rough Lemon gave the heaviest dry weight of shoot and root and also the highest shoot-root ratio, besides Citrus amblicarpa. The best root system was found on Schoub Rough Lemon, Brazillian Sour Orange, Volkameriana and Citrus amblicarpa
