The survey was conducted from February to March 1988. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate the intensity of the blood disease which was the most serious and endemic banana disease in South Sulawesi since 1910. Result of the observation showed that in the lowland area of Jeneponto the disease penetrated 70 up to 80 percent of the banana plantation of the surveyed area
