Five varieties of corn, IPB var I, IPB var 2, IES Cn 1, IES var 2 and supersweet corn no.33 were evaluated for baby corn production in terms of cob diameter, cob length, mean weight and chemical qualities, as harvested 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, and 4 days after silking using the top and second ears as basis of analysis for each variety. Results of the study revealed that all field corn varieties tested proved suitable for baby corn production. As was observed, the optimum stage for harvesting the acceptable top ears is 2 days after silking for both wet and dry season trials which gave the longest acceptable cob, highest cob weight and biggest cob diameter. Three days after silking during the dry season trial and four days after silking in the wet season trial gave acceptable second ear.
