The chemical composition and in vitro digestibility of the whole plant as well as the plant parts of four species of Sesbania were determined. There was a wide variation in chemical composition of different plant parts. The CP content of the leaves ranged from 20.3 to 31.7%, averaging 27.9%. Considerable variations were observed in NDF (27.6 to 74.9%) and lignin (4.6 to 17.6%) contents. Also, the IVDMD (40.2 to 74.2% and IVDMD (36.4 to 72.0 %) were variable. Negative correlations (P0.01) were observed between IVDMD and NDF, ADF, cellulose, lignin and CF. Results indicate that Sesbania has a great potential as protein supplement due to its high CP content
