The studies on the effect of six seeding rates (6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 kg/ha) in summer time of sowing on the shoot number (unit/sq. m) and yielding of alfalfa v. Boja were carried out in the years 1985-87. Number of shoots per sq. m did not differ significantly in case of rates ranged 9-15 and 15-21 kg seeds/ha. It was indicative of shoot compaction self - control in the mentioned ranges of seeding rate. The highest, but insignificantly differentiated yields of green and dry matter and crude protein were obtained under conditions of seeding rate from 15 to 21, and protein from 18 to 21 kg seeds/ha
