Influence of retardants on tomato transplants
1992
Borkowski, J. (Instytut Warzywnictwa, Skierniewice (Poland))
The influence of growth inhibitors: chlormequat, paclobutrazol, and triapenthanol on growth of shoots and roots of tomato transplants was investigated. All chemicals markedly retarded growth of plants. The largest inhibition activity had triapenthanol in concentration 125 ppm: the plants were smallest and strong retardation of flowering appeared. Use of chlormequat significantly decreased fresh and dry matter of shoots and roots. The ratio roots: shoots was lower in plants treated with all retardants, but especially in those treated with chlormequat
