Influence of some herbicides and their mixtures on weed control and yield of cauliflowers

The activity of some herbicides on cauliflower and weeds was studied in field experiments in 1987-89. Pendimethalin, oxyflourfen and napropamide were applied before planting, cynmethalin, ethametsulfuron-methyl, metazachlor and its mixture with napropamide, propachlor and tebutam were applied 9-16 days after planting of cauliflower. Oxyfluorfen, metazachlor and its mixture with napropamide and propachlor were highly effective against weeds. No phytotoxicity was observed on cauliflower treated with all herbicides. Oxyfluorofen, napropamide, metazachlor and its mixtures with propachlor gave the highest yields of cauliflower
