Estimation of some factors affecting the litter size in primiparous sows

Reproductive performance data of 531 Polish Large White gilts were analysed. No significant effect of the transferrin type genotype of gilts on the age at the first parity as well as on the litter size was observed. The significant effect of parental genotypes of serum transferrin types on liveborn piglet number in primiparous sows was stated
